On the right is our illustrious leader: Mark Daniel. He’s the guy who started these FamilyLife cycling challenges …as a bit of fun, he said.
Ian Sillet is tree surgeon (currently taking a sabbatical after suffering a mid life crisis aged 24) who loves all things nature and outdoors; especially sailing.
Richard and Ann Palfreeman – “This is the third cycle ride I’ve done with Family Life although I don’t like cycling but I enjoy Marks snoring so much! Been married 19 years and live in Gerrards Cross and enjoy walking with our lovely Golden Retriever called DL. Both work in the family business in London. Ann is looking forward to seeing my efforts from the support van!”
Sheila Smith – all round wonderful person who likes herding cats with Jane. 🐆🐆🐆
Ann Green – aka Mrs G practicing her van driving skills.
Harry Benson – our Lone Ranger from the west, here with Kate. “I was nearly the first Royal Navy pilot to be shot down by a submarine.”
Suki – Glad you lived to tell the tale. WOOF!
Elizabeth “Lil” Mathew –
“Being a FOMO has resulted in me doing some crazy things like scuba diving down into a cave and parasailing in Palau.“
Ann Attwood – Plaits a la Laura Kenny.
Stephen Attwood – our mr motivator. 💪
Phil Keates – Enjoying getting fit.
Lucy Daniel – “Lacroix darling, Lacroix. Pass the Bolli!”
Dave Mathew – “I can’t think of anything funny to say.”
Charli Mathew – 🎵 “I want to ride my bicycle.” 🎶
Suzannah Gilford – “I managed to decode the Post Office notice ‘thru window’
and found my jersey behind the curtain on top of a dying plant!!!!”
Team Coles. Kana “The cycle trip is the most I have ever cycled but I am glad as it is my post A level celebration and start to a good gap year…“
Olivia – “I hate exercise & will look forward to every single coffee stop!“
Alasdair “no comment”.
Tiffany Atkins – “Ready to go! Will be playing soundtracks from musicals all the way to York. Is there a singalong group?”
Andy Atkins – support team. “Ready with the bananas.” 🍌
Bill Edwards – back from sunny Spain 😎 and seen out and about somewhere in Cambridge training (he says 🤣).
We couldn’t do a who’s who without mentioning that we have some fantastic sponsors who have covered the support costs of the ride. Bless you!

I honestly don’t know how I got myself into this. My owners often say that I’m much cleverer than their last dog, who was in the food queue when the brains were being handed out. Personally I think that was a smart move for a Labrador.
It’s s bummer. The blackberries are ripe and juicy and hunting them down is much more productive way of spending leisure time, in my humble opinion.
Alternatively …chasing squirrels. Although I must admit the little buggers are pretty good at climbing trees.
But I know my place and I’m happy to spread a little Joi de vie and get the word about Toucan – to help you humans.
